  1. Kinzi….i had a hard time reading it, but i understood what you were saying….thanks for the update.. can you by any chance write arabic? just wondering! have a wonderful Friday, or whatever left of it.

  2. Hi Summer! An even more wonderful Friday because of your presence, and the SWEET video you uploaded! Masha’allah 3alaiki, shu shatra inti! The internet is SLOW as dibbis today, and I had to leave the comment I wanted to write to feed a child.

I can handwrite in Arabic, better than this funny language mix, but I can’t type in Arabic. Plus, I know NO classical Arabic, I’m an Amiyya gal. Insha’allah bil mustaqbal, ra7 ata3allim kitaabi mazbuuta. :)

  3. Thanks and welcome, Ola! One great thing about Amman now, compared to ten years ago, is that if I don’t know a word in Arabic, I say it in English with a Jordanian accent and everyone understands me!

  4. Wow! this is impressing:) I bet you speak it better than writing it!! I mean with the “7,6″ and other numbers -letters-! it’s not easy at all!! great job!

  5. Nido, minkum mnita3allam! I just love your language. I really only know 3 and 7, could you tell me corresponding numbers for the gayn letter, stronger T, D, S and whaterever else I missed? Habeebti, alf shukkr!

  6. gayn is 3′ such as s3′eer
hamzeh is 2 such as the name Hana2 or saying the word 2asdi ( i mean)
    6 is TTTAA2 ( for Tayyara, 6ayyara)
Sad would stay an S i think
    Dhadd would stay a D i think
    KHaaa2 is 7′ such as 7′o7′a (peach)
    tab3an 3 is for 3a
    and 7 for 7aaaaaahhhh
this is my best…take care! and thanks for trying to leave a comment…now imagine me uploading the videow with slow connection here and power interruption of at least four times a day!!
    have a good night.

  7. Lol this is cool..I could tell that you’re German..speaking Jordanian Arabic..which is really cool..I particularly liked the first line in your post..starting with Fa..lol…cool!

  8. please keep writing in Arabic, that was neat :) ,
P.S. Ikhwan is better understood than ixwan

  9. lol raheeb. shatra inti kteer bil arabizi!

  10. summer sab2atni;) keep learning:)

  11. Very cute Arabic Kinzi :D , I’m really impressed that you actually can speak Arabic, I didn’t know that, bravo :D
I’m wish I was there to see all of you :) , inshalla I’ll meet you when I get there…

  12. Summer, thank you for my lesson of the day! Have a lovely Saturday!

Averroes, I am REALLY honored! I lived in a German speaking country for several years, but I am still a born and bred Amerikiyya. I just love talking to people, and seem to pick up whatever I need to TALK! I mean, I work at it too, but the motive is communication!

Hareega, Thanks!! It’s like a language all it’s own, written Amiyya! Yes, I will now use the kh sound and sound more authentic.

Roba! Now I’m stumped, what’s “Raheeb”? Is it like when girls call each other “Shagfeh?” ;) I know it’s a compliment though, and I thank you!

Nido and Mai, yea, I read in a tafsiir that speaking Arabic makes me an Arab now! I mean, if I didn’t speak Arabic after all these years, it would be stupid of me! I can even teach a couple of chapters of my course in Arabic.

Mai, yes, see you when you come! And enjoy Southern California for me!

  13. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

this is awsome!! you reminds me of my uncle’s wife, she’s Serbian, speaks with the same cute accent :)

  14. you impress me day by day lady :)

  15. Bravo… in the little time i spent with u.. you spoke arabic very good..

3an jad fazee3a.. 5alas el marra el jaya.. there will be no English..

Ooops… shyfa sometimes i feel that English is taking the higher per cent of my brain :D

    Good day all..

  16. Abed, giggle, yes, people say my accent is ‘charming’. I’m sure your aunt is much better than I am, those Serbs are language collecters.

Moey, hee-hee, I’m honored, as I know you are not easily impressed! Without sounding trite, I have to say God really helped me learn! I’m just as dyslexic in Arabic as English. :S

HAYAT!! you were the one I forgot…In fact, I remembered that as I fell sleep and was going to edit the post before you saw it…asfi jiddaan ya helwa! SHU, adeysh ana be7ibb il kilmeh ‘fazee3a’, shookraan! 5allas 3anjad, walla kilmeh Englizi baynana!

  17. Amjad, ana wiyak! Marra el jay…thanks for visiting theblog!

  18. lool! the funny thing is, she learned arabic from my GrandMother! she speaks like palestinian villigars most of the time lool

actually, she speaks just like your accent, she knows many words but still the same accent :)

  19. LOL! Me too! Does she say “Bagullach?” I learned that the Filistiini/Karaki way and CAN’T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD! I’ve learned it is an easy way to make people laugh out loud. Tall, blonde, educated foreigner speaks like fellahiin!

  20. LOOL ! Not only bagollak, but also she knows words I never heared of before!!

she’s a blond east european who says “Mograda” for scissor!! I never knew this word!! my father hardly remembered this word from the old country hahaha

  21. Wow Kinzi, good Arabish :P

I am glad you enjoyed your meeting. I couldnt make it. Maybe next time I will :)

  22. Bi izzan irrab, ya Fadi. Thanks for the compliment!
