Kinzi’s Most Treasured Bloggers

(Tye-yeb, shwhyit bakiir 11:33pm 26 Oct., bas biddi anaam ashan bukra issubu7 mashguuli; 3indi mowid bakiir li futoor ma3 Summer! La tizalu minni, Jameed oo Bashar oo Chicki kaanu yapostu ‘3abli. Fa khallas, yella)

As I mentioned before, to pick ONE was way too hard. When I have time, I try and read anyone I am familiar with, although I swore off new blogs (Asoom, young Khaled and Gradly snuck by that self-control) as my closets are still in disarray and my husband recently sent me a Dilbert comic concerning internet addiction. Not just funny, a subtle hint.

I decided to use the “BLINK” method, and not give it a lot of thought, after reviewing the blogroll. I tried not to consider who might be hurt or if a favorite commenter would be sad if they were overlooked. Maybe this will inspire me to post a blog-roll, maybe after I organize those closets. :) If you aren’t mentioned and I regularly visit and comment, you are my favorite too. If we not only blog but call and visit, well, blogger-buds forever!

My criteria was: they post regularly (except for vacation and work breaks), comment back to commenters, come up with new ideas and angles as a life-habit and are fairly open-minded people. I go to different bloggers to learn different things, and had about ten more categories, but decided to leave it as is. True to Kinzi form, I’m doing it a little different, as I didn’t have time to go through and read to find favorite posts and why.

Best All Around: Nas at the Black Iris.* I remember this post from his early days: http://www.black-iris.com/2005/02/21/obituary-common-sense/

Funniest Thinking Repatriated Female: Hala Khalaf never fails to leave me spitting my coffee on the computer screen, as Dave so eloquently put it once. I couldn’t find a place for Roba, but her name has to be here although she repatriated from KSA :)

Funniest Thinking Repatriated Male: 3-way tie between Moey, BamBam &Bakkouz . You guys are dudes, caused me innumerable laugh lines. Not just funny, but clever and talented too.

Feelingest Female: Lina Ejeilat is a sweet, quiet, energetic mover-shaker.

Feelingest Male: Fadi the Observer consistently provides another perspective to mull over.

Most Risk Taking Rebellious Arab Female: Mona@RAB lays it all out, no fear.

Most Risk-Taking Rebellious Arab Male: Pheras Hillal is a catalyst of change.

Arab Ex-Pat Female: 7aki Fadi and Sam tie (it’s a mommyblogger thing) live my Western world and remind me of home, from an Arab perspective.

Arab Ex-Pat Male: Hareega (Mohanned and Hamede: waynkum?) gives that same perspective, from the not-so-mysterious Arab male viewpoint.

American Ex-Pat Female: Momma Bean and I live parallel lives.

American Ex-Pat Male: Dave American in Jordan adds that impacting male dimension to the parallel.

Special distinction to Summer, my Lebanese generational sister, cuisine mentor and morning chat-pal :)

There are small minority not named who make me a bit crazy with their narrowness, name-calling and contempt-flinging, but even from these I learn something.

Thanks to all of you in the JB/QP community for creating a little world where all forms of culture, country, faith, gender and generation can meet. Where we can know one another by what is in our heads and hearts. A little microcosm of humanity at it’s best.

Lastly, a special thanks to Qwaider for providing one of the playgrounds, and to the other I don’t know. Cheers!! Oh yea, Moey and Devil’s Mind have playgrounds too! (updated)

*P.S. These are not links. Bold and Italic is as good as it gets at Kinziblogs. :D

I’m honored to know that I was able to sneak past your rule LOOOL! Thanks for the critiques I think I have just discovered a couple of new blogs out of this post ;)

  2. name Says:

    Well,

It is Qwaider (qwaider.com) and Qwaider(jordanblogs.com) now.

  3. Mohanned Says:

Still around but busier than ever :)

  4. kinziblogs Says:

Asoom, yes, and if I had a category for funnest single lady bloggers, you and Mai are it. :) Iman would be the thinking category.

Name, Mazz (Sanitary Measures) is jordanblogs. Welcome!

    Mohanned, hope it’s good busy!

  5. Summer Says:

    see you soon.

  6. kinziblogs Says:

    Summer, with bells on! :)

  7. Dave Says:

Remind me to teach you how to create links when we finally get together. :)

  8. bakkouz Says:

hmm “Repatriated” .. *checks the dictionary*..

Ok, there’s something here that has to do with prisoners of war and refugees! Come to think of it, I suppose I do qualify as a refugee, from the shackles of my scathing winds and torrents pouring forth from my wondering mind. unwilling to wreak annihilable havoc with my tumefascent transmitters and turgid devices, which by the way reminds me of the enigma of postage not sent.

    Thank you Kinzi, I R Honored :)

  9. kinziblogs Says:

Dave, then you will know how really blond I can be! I’ve rested on my laurels of learning how to cut & paste all of 2007, so I guess learning to link with a WORD should come next (my son rolls his eyes). AND, photos…yabayay. Thanks for the willingness, bardo.

Bakkouz, you send ME to the dictionary!! (tumefascent & turgid). Now did I just imagine that you lived in the US? Repatriated in terms of ex-pated, I intended. Tasharufni. :)

  10. Made in Jordan Says:

Thanks Kinzi! I’m flattered to be on your list :-), coming from you, it means a lot to me!

  11. kinziblogs Says:

Pheras, your latest phase of posts have been great! The others were too, but I enjoy the challenging way you both expose depravity then ACT on it. Too many are complaining and doing nothing. I’ll pray for your strength to quit smoking, too. :)

  12. The observer Says:

Thank you kinzi :). I am so happy to be among your list. It is an honor.

I have been thinkng of doing this tag today, but couldnt help myself to pick a favourite blogger. I would have classified it your way but I though that I would end up with a list of most of the bloggers with each excelling in a special way.

I agree with you about Pheras, he is doing a great job at his blog and gaining a lot of my attention with his quality writings. He just needs some colors :)

  13. 7aki Fadi Says:

    THanks Kinzi :) .

Visiting your blog is always heartwarming so I would give you kindest blogger award :D

  14. Moey Says:

  16. kinziblogs Says:

Heh-heh, Fadi, Pheras thinks the same of you!! People are going to think we conspired or something. :)

7aki, aw golly-gosh, thanks!! I love it that people are experiencing me that way, because genuine kindness has been a struggle for me as someone who used to be kind just to get what they could out of people.

    Moey, I’m glad! :D

Khaled, sorry for setting such a gol-darn bad example for a teenager! What kind of role-models are we, breaking the rules so shamelessly? Hey, honored to be on your list, I hope your precious mom will reconsider. If you lay off Omar, it might help ;).

  17. MommaBean Says:

Color me surprised and honored… Blush blush.

  18. eyad Says:

you know Kinzi i agree with your choice, and i think most of us do, but you know sometimes in the past i was just blogging because i wanted to be one of the top bloggers :)
what a stupid idea i had, blogging is not a competition, so now i take it easy.
    enjoy life, and blogging ,

  19. kinziblogs Says:

MommaBean, we sistas watch each others backs, mish? :)

Eyad, I love your honesty…and I am SO glad you are now just enjoying it! I know I’ll never be a top blogger, but it is great to be a part of the ‘choir’ and back-up those great ones to be the soloists.

  20. Priv Anon Says:

I wish you linked to these blogs! I have seen a lot of them, but I have never seen some of the ones you mentioned!

  21. kinziblogs Says:

Priv Anon, you just tell which ones and I will get off my lazy behind (or on it, I guess) and put the links in. They are worth it!!

  22. Maher Says:

  23. kinziblogs Says:

Oh Maher, don’t be sad!! You are a fun blogger who needs to POST MORE!!! Where have you been?

  24. An American in Jordan » Blog Archive » Favorite Blogger(s) Day Says:

  30. bambam Says:

hella belated of me, and am glad am in the funny category rather than the scornful one :) really domo (thanks)
always nice to have someone like you to discuss issues with, and i couldn’t help but say “You guys are dudes” line left me ….. giggling
    keep it up kinzi

  31. Rebellious Arab Girl Says:

I forgot to mention.. you don’t have links to those bloggers and I wanted to click on some of them!! I will google then..

  32. kinziblogs Says:

BamBam, was it what ‘dudes’ means in Arabic, or that it is such an old slang? You can take the girl out of the 80s, but you can’t take the 80s out of the girl. Whatever the reason, glad you were giggling.

Mona, heh-heh, it would have taken me three days to link them all, I was lazy (or cooking, or something)

  33. KJ Says:

You must be obliterated unresurrectably :P

  34. kinziblogs Says:

KJ, yea, for participating in such a silly exercise of favoritism? Yabayay, I do not understand why people have to take things so seriously!! :)

Qwaider…I didn’t get another comment and couldn’t find yours! BTW, thjanks for the tech for non-techies post!

  35. Priv Anon Says:

    Hiiii Kinzi,

Thank you for dropping by my blog! I am glad you actually liked it!

I’ve been reading your blog for a while now :)

    So ok,

I would like the link for:

Hmmmm..rebellious arab girl but I see she already commented

    Bambam

    and

    Hareega!

    Thanks Kinzi :)

  36. Priv Anon Says:

Actually they all commented on this…I guess I found my links..hmmm

  37. Priv Anon Says:

I take it back…bambam comment link is not directing me to the blog,

so just bambam for now :)

  38. kinziblogs Says:

Privanon, thanks for being a reader!! Not too tame for ya?? I read a couple of your other posts today and thought WOW, Amman has a live one on it’s hands!! I’ll look forward to hear of your continued adventures! Maybe even sneak you into a Christmas cookie making party if you want to be REALLY daring with anonymity. :D

Here is the ADDRESS for BamBam’s lastest post. You know by now I am link-challenged, but I can do them in my posts BUT NOT in a comment!! Hopeless, until Dave the other American (or MommaBean) clue me in:

    http://nonangel.blogspot.com/2007/10/why-is-it-that-majority-of-my-readers.html

  39. kinziblogs Says:

OH MY!!! It makes a link ALL BY ITSELF!!!!

  40. Hal Says:

Kinzi you’re TOO SWEET! THank you so much! And apologize to your computer screen for me, will ya? ;)

  41. kinziblogs Says:

Hal, inti bil a7la! To be honest, it was the keyboard that took the brunt of the outflow. Fortunately, I use sweetener and not sugar so the keys don’t stick. :D
