the trouble with acts as stupid as the Sudanese government’s is that they are extremely mediagenic, even though they are isolated.
The mass murder of tens of thousands Muslims in Iraq at the hands of American Christians or massmurder of Arabs in Lebanon at the hands of israeli Jews never translate into a condemnation of Christianity or Judiasm, but the incredibly stupid act of jailing a poor English woman in Sudan or condemning another poor Muslim woman in Saudi Arabia, who was was gang-raped, become useful incidents to condemn 1.3 billion Muslims.
