Ditching 365 Kamaan & a Question

By kinziblogs

Not because Q doesn’t like it. Although, I may add a creative ORIGINAL twist on it and do ‘52′, once a week. :) Then he won’t have to see have the front of his page be 365 all the time.

Not because Hala is switching it to a personal site only.

Not because no one is reading and commenting. Because there are some!

But because, I am finding that it is taking more mental energy than I thought it would, and is distracting me from both posts I want to write on other topics and my PAID work. Even without 365, I usually have to skip blogging for a few days to focus on deadlines, SO, what was I thinking?

A professional writer who reads my blog now (whew, that makes me ALWAYS do the spell-check thing) told me whatever is ‘out-there’ on the internet won’t be accepted by publishers. Not that I was really gonna write a book anyway, but I might.

I must be ADD, and I can’t handle the distraction. All that delving into the past is affecting my today, even though it is fun. But reality is, I just don’t have time.

THE QUESTION: One of my favorite bloggers/readers told me I am too nice, too open, too frank, and I need to be more careful. What do you think?

Good questions. Too open as compared to what? Or whom? To me? :D

You have to blog first and foremost for you. What you want and say what you want to say.

    Have a great weekend.

Hi Brian! He was thinking in terms of Arab society, which can get a little nervous and suspicious when folks are overly that way or another. HAH! I could use a lesson in openness from YOU!

I promise to blog for me first. :D Maybe just a little less inwardly revealnig.

I hope to have a great weekend, I hope you ALL do too!

  3. Maher Says:

Oh Kinzi.. You are so nice and kind indeed! and i agree that you may need to be a little more carefull than you do..but trust me..it wont happen
cause simply you cant stop being kind and nice :)

PS : you missed a big day at softball today!
Everything happened…Homeruns, Great plays..even a Fight broke out! imagine..?!!
Check The slogs for the review..
lets just hope Mude doesn’t get lazy and post this stuff quickly! :)

YAAAAAY .. .Way to go Kinzi … Great choice. 52 is easier on the eyes, and the souls.
But why confine yourself to it? Be free as a bird, write about it when you like, without sticking to another deadline.
    La2 Jad, Bravo! Seriously

  5. Ziad D Says:

No such thing as being too nice. The world is in dire need of nice. Kindness is needed more than ever. You are nice, that is your escence through and through. This is why I read your blog, and comment when I can. I echo Brian’s thoughts, this is your domain, and be anything you want to be. I will make sure to read your posts when I can ( I may not always comment, as I may not have something useful to contribute.)
I am a little saddened that 365 has been discontinued by you and Hala, but I can understand that it can be too taxing.
Your blog, your home, your rules!! :)

  6. Emily Says:

    Kinzi-
I was enjoying the 365’s as well. As for your being too nice- is that a thing? Let the Spirit guide you (as I know it does) and what you write about will be what needs to be written. Others have the choice to read it or not.

  7. Batoul Says:

Kinzi, being nice is not something you should worry about. Just worry about the people that could be harmful to you… Less trust, more carefulness :)

  8. kinziblogs Says:

Aw shucks, guys, OK, I receive that and will trust God will continue to work nice and kind into my character. Once another person said some other bloggers don’t believe I am real because I am TOO nice. Authenticity is a value as much as kind-ness, so if it seems fake, I want to accurately reflect ‘kind’. Then folks can think what they want to. :)

Maher and Batoul, any specifics about trust and being careful would help. I’ll delete the comment if you don’t want it posted. I AM overly trusting, view people as good until they prove otherwise, which isn’t always WISE here.

Maher, sorry we missed your game, it was a lazy Friday. FIGHT? Yabayay…can’t wait to read the Slogs! Just hope it wasn’t any of the guys from church….

Qwaider, yea, I like the free as a bird thing, or as Emily said, “As the Spirit leads”. But for someone as random as i am, a little structure helps balance me.

Ziad and Emily, thanks for the good words of encouragement to continue. It has more to do with my inability to concentrate on more than three writing topics at a time (esp with kids home for school), and the daily-ness was beginning to feel like pressure. Part of that is my fault for not following the rules, but 47 words was just too few!! I will continue, especially after a couple weeks.

So Em, I will ask the Spirit to guide me. I usually do about what to write about anyway, but in this context, it makes it more special. :) when I get the word, I’ll know it’s for a reason.

  9. MommaBean Says:

Kinz, I know what you mean about the 365, that’s actually why I put it on a separate blog. I recognize it will get very limited (read that NO) traffic, but I’m doing it for me, so if no one reads it, no problem. I hope you will continue as I’m enjoying them.

And, as for the publishers won’t publish anythingthat’s “out there” I know one of the moms on that site I mentioned to you sld her journal to a publisher…

  10. Moey Says:

Kinzi, you should write about me, how sexy I am and all that.

joking, just giving you a laugh

  11. kinziblogs Says:

Ya Moey, I’ve already been thinking about how to mention you…can I say ‘edgy’? :)
