Yahoo! I won a prize from VIVA’s March issue Grand GiveAway! Any other bloggers win anything out there?
How often do I win anything?? Like never. It’s probably because I never enter contests TO win anything.
But this time, when I saw the cool stuff, I did. I even went for the biggee, the Kurdi pearl and diamond necklace. Now where would I where such a thing? In my PJ’s while blogging? Doing dishes in my sweats? Who needs to have a place to wear it? I spend all day being practical, why not do something irrational for a change?
My second choice was a hard call. I REALLY wanted a Nadia Dajani necklace. I love her stuff, and I actually DID win a Star Letter contest at VIVA a few years back and the prize was: a simple Nadia Dajani necklace. BUT…I knew my kids practically coveting an ipod. Not wanting them to continue in one of the seven deadly sins, dutiful mom that I am, I put the ipod as my second choice. The Nadia necklace was third, but alas, I took solace that I had Done Right By My Kids.
A few days ago I got an email from Manal, my NEW editor. She said: “Hey, you won!! Not the Kurdi necklace, but the Nadia necklace!”. I was so excited, but asked: “Were the ipods taken?”. She paused and said: “Erm, there was a glitch with the ipods”. I can’t say what, but I am pretty excited that I got what I wanted.
Now, I have to visit the store and get some matching earrings! Um, hopefully hubby would be willing to consider it a Mother’s Day gift! I could tell him: “Look how much you saved by the fact I didn’t win the pearl and diamond necklace! Imagine how much matching earrings for THAT would’ve cost!” Heh-heh, just joking, dear.

Where is the Nadia Dajani showroom? Any ideas? That is the thing that bugs about these local magazines, they even write an article about a restaurant or store and don’t include the contact info. (Maybe not Viva, but Home and JO are notorious.) Thanks.
March 25, 2008 at 4:37 pm |
Um Omar, it is fun to be an info source for you! Her main showroom is in the Hotel Intercon compound.
We’ll have to pass that tidbit about JO to Lina

Bakkouz, you are so funny!

OK Maher, you called my bluff
!! I thought the very image of the treatment woudl send you screaming from the room! That’s the package Umm Farouq won and we had a little laugh about it at her blog – and discovered several of us foreign ladies will stick with a razor, thank you. One particular way we will NOT fit in to the cultural way of doing things! TMI!!!!!
BUT…if you REALLY did sign up for a prize, I WILL investigate!!
Lil Kinz, yea, she knows my jewelry goes to her, she says it will make her feel better when I kick the bucket. :S
