I thought perhaps the media would self-correct and rise to the occasion of real journalism again after plumbing the depths of frenzied fixations on female hair and wardrobe ‘issues’ post-election.
I thought perhaps when their man won, a new level of media respect would follow President elect Obama’s wife to the White House and we would be spared ad nauseum notice of ‘female parts’ and the related vocabulary.
I thought perhaps there would be sufficient news-worthy topics with appointments, policy planning and inaugural buzz to avoid continuing such tabloid-like-trash.
Well, as with many aspects of this election, I was wrong. But perhaps my greatest error was in considering Salon a source of any compelling form of journalism.
Leave Michelle’s butt alone. Khallas ya hiywan*.
Have a little respect for her, at least for his sake, for the office of the presidency’s sake and for yourselves, puh-lease.
*For non-Arabic speakers: “enough, you ANIMALS”. (technically, animal; plural is hiywanaat)

I thought it was Hillary’s hips.
At least Laura Bush has been left alone.
Maybe it’s time to see what’s hiding inside the boys’ pants for a change of pace. And give them a doze of their own medicine.

I read salon, but hadn’t noticed that feature until you pointed it out. I can’t believe she managed to write a 2 page article about Michelle’s butt!

Hani, sorry to be the one to point you to that sorry excuse for a feature. Usually Salon has something worth reading. My exact sentiments, she goes on and on, Lord have mercy!!! As Krystal pointed out, for all Prez Bush did, no one would DREAM of writing such a thing about First Lady Laura Bush.
