Not Iran, my radiation treatment. And Levothyroxine in my system again the next day!
I had a dream that I dropped the radiated iodine capsule under the chair, then had a little action sequence like that movie where Nicholas Cage popped the green nuclear warhead bits in the bad guy’s mouth. What was that one? Alcatraz or something?
Spikekid peeled 35 apples today for a massive “Apple Crisp” bake, hubby got a great deal on apples so the kids will have a warm, yummy different breakfast while I am in radiation isolation. We’ve been practicing ‘radiation hugs’ again, blowing kisses, and they want to send ‘Get Well’ paper airplanes into my ‘chamber’. MommaBean and El 3atal have graciously agreed to watch our brood while hubby transports me.
I’ll let the kids have the lap-top, since it is a ’screen-day’ for them and I don’t want to contaminate the keyboard. They won’t be allowed in the adult bathroom, which will mean a sink free of toothpaste spills and a toilet…well, you know how little boys are. I’ll have an excuse for as many hot showers as I want, and eat lemon drops all day. Citric acid helps keep saliva glands from being affected, some studies say. Bless my husband, he brought home lemons. I said “Why?”. He said “Well, how much better to have the real thing?” I said “Honey, I cannot suck on lemons at all, much less all day.” EEyyyew. I told him he will have to make hot lemon and honey water drinks all day. I bet he goes and gets lemon drops.
What books will I be reading? Still working through the John Piper book on suffering, but also have one called “Play Station Nation” (the kids are afraid I will return the XBox over it. No chance. We are learning moderation) .
The other is “Parenting Teens with Love and Logic”, which is the system their school is now using in regards to missed or late project or homework. It is choice, and I love what I have read so far. All about teaching personal responsibility and consequences for behaviour. Wow, if we could get this implemented into the Jordanian educational system, there would be, well, I can only imagine.Or the American system, come to think of it.
Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes and happy thoughts as I under go the ‘big glow’! God has been with me in fear, weakness, sickness, emptiness, alone-ness, now in semi-isolation and BOREDOM. Now that is one thing I havent’ had to deal with is God helping me through boring days. Maybe just what an ‘excitement-junkie’ needs.

Hey, maybe the hubby could make lemonade!
Quick lemonade from “Joy of Cooking”:
1. juice all the lemons and measure how much you have
2. Combine 8 parts water (compared to the amount of lemon juice) and 1-1/2 to 2 parts sugar in a pan.
3. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
4. Cool the sugar water, add the lemon juice, refrigerate some more and voila.

The good news is that now that your family knows their way around the kitchen, when you are 100% again, they have no excuse not to help

I’ve been craving apple crisp for a couple days now. Where did hubby buy the apples? I especially like the idea of paper airplane ‘get well wishes’. Thinking of you! Um Tulip

Kinz, the kids were angels. Seriously. Literally. no arguments, no fights, no whining (from your kids at least). And (a fact I kept from you), it was HelperBean’s day off. So, we muddled along great together and your boys are welcome anytime. Oh, but make sure Lil Kinz comes back soon. ButterBean had a make-up tutoring session for most of her time here
. Talk about tears and sadness (I had to do an unplanned art project to make up for the missed fun). Prayers and happy thoughts on their way to you non-stop. Can you receive phone calls? To help stave off boredom?

HEY MB!!! Heh-heh, when I was going on and on about not letting the kids manuever Helper Bean into disclosing brownie or cupcake whereabouts, you must’ve been giggling! Thank you even more.
Hubby was supposed to leave Lil Kinz, so we had a major melt-down here,
It is a REALLY tough day today, throat is so nuked talking is even worse. No drugs until four hours AFTER dinner :O. Can’t read books because I am going to radioactivate them (have latex gloves on, as well as pajamas). Prayers and happy thoughts, that sounds good. Almost ready to return to dark room and moan.
