Twilight Movie Reviews Handily Accessible HERE

By kinziblogs

Thanks to Tracy at Book Room Reviews, I don’t have to look up all the MSM blather on the Twilight movie, or wait for Mona et al to finish swooning and email me. Much less wait for it to be translated into Arabic and come to, yawn, Amman, Jordan. I hope we are on the distribution radar, anyway.

They manage to get over themselves as elite movie reviewers and just be a sixteen year old girl for a couple hours. Bravo. NOW, a discussion about fatalism, impulsivity, infatuation, valuing one’s self about one’s infatuation, AND NOT USING EDWARD AS A BASE-LINE FOR ALL MALE HUMANITY can begin with Twilight moms and daughters.

Thanks Tracy. Be glad you have boys. I am thankful my daughter is way too young to know what is up. :)

***UPDATE: Hollywood scratches head; no sex, no violence, no stars film costing $37mil to make takes in $70mil first weekend!!! Imagine!!!

I’m not reading this because I plan on watching it today hopefully!

Asoom, good for you! No spoilers, but hey, you don’t want to go with preconceived ideas. :)

I was, just today, wondering about all the hype on this film as I keep seeing it mentioned on facebook–and it appears it’s not just teenage girls who are going ga-ga over it but even some in their early twenties. I guess instead of being critical I should look for what part of our common feminine humanity it appeals to. My conclusion: women want to be loved. That’s no secret, but I do think this generation would be better off with the Pride and Prejudice model of romance.

A desertmom, I agree with the last line…interestingly, Bella in the book is a big classics fan, and so gets the readers into P & P and others! She does sortof fixate on Romeo and Juliet, not the best role model

What I find SO interesting is that women DO just want to be loved, & aren’t buying into their mother’s version of feminism. Lots of sociological stuff in these vampire books.

Aunt Kinzi!!!! Yes, we’ve finally seen the Twilight movie, but are not quite finished swooning! ;) J, Mag, and I LOVED the movie! We didn’t make on opening day but saw it on Sat. I’ll sit down and email a full review/opinion as soon as I can!
PS It’s official: New Moon is being made into a movie! *insert squeal*

Niece MONA! Too cute…I can see the three of you hashing through every look, movement, dialog, scene setting, all bright-eyed and hopping up and down (especially the youngest). I’ll post your thoughts when you send them!

(ah yes, NEWMOON’s a rising!!! WAHOO! I figured, they have to get them all filmed before Kristen Stewart cuts her hair or Rob Pattinson begins to feel type-cast as a Victorian Vampire or something!)
