Two Years of My Treasure – Top Posts

By kinziblogs

Today is my second blogoversary! I should have named it: Ramblings of an American Mom in Amman. I had no idea where I was going with it, no hint my outside-in/expat/minority-report/weird thoughts would ever be read by anyone other than die-hard Jordanian bloggers, a few friends and even a couple of faithful trolls. I still don’t know where I am going other than a book some day, but I’m having a blast getting there with you all on board. God does, that’s all that matters.

Thanks for making it so fun, special thanks to Qwaider Planet, Jordan Blogs, Southern Muslimah :D ), itoot, Pizza LeftOvers and now Girly Gator for adding me to your aggregators. 2009 will be the Year of The Blog Roll. LOL! I may even get rid of my ’sand-to-sky’ header (yea, that WAS what it was supposed to look like) and pick something more meaningful for this season of life.

I’ve never been one to go back and read old posts, but I thought I’d and pick my favorites by month based on either their content, comments or controversy, for newer readers. Here are the first six months bas, as the kounouz are on their way home and blogger-hat is exchanged for mommy-hat:

1) First post ever! Gets tons of hits BECAUSE: I think some googlers thought it was porn. :P http://kinziblogs.wordpress.com/2006/12/01/the-lady-bloggers-of-jordan-planet-part-1/

2) It only took two weeks to get into the ‘reality show’ aspect of blogging:

3) January ‘07 was Khobezah Discovery month, cementing the Cookie Queen Crown and finding hope for hair. But, learning my living room wall could encourage a sad-cyber-world took the cake for this cookie monster:

4) February ‘07 was controversary month, and produced the most visits ever until Pioneer Woman and Twilight fans found their way. This post cemented my multiple personality disorder and gave a commenter and I a chance to make peace through love of fast-food.

5) March 07 I tried out the whole tagging thing (which I still don’t get REALLY) and asked the whole blogosphere what their Myers-Briggs results were!) also, a VIVA article on life as a minorities-minority in Amman. Now, though, I have realized, I’m really a ‘Hajji Ajnabiyya‘ and would have to be a l*sbian Sri Lankan to really fit that the extreme minority role):

6) April 07’s personal fav was another VIVA contribution and later accepted by 7iber.com, one that still brings a tear and sense of loss for my adopted Jordan:

WHOOPS, that’s s far as she got! BUT, this will not be one of my famous “start a series and NEVER get back to it”. 3anjad ;) . Thanks for the memories!!!
