Bad Dads #5 & 6

In Italy.

In Columbia.

I hope the Fritzl case is encouraging more victims to come forward.

Today I spoke with a group of nursing students on child sexual abuse. They were completely engaged and tracking, which was surprising for me considering their young age and the tough subject. We talked about incest and abuse prevention, and I am really pleased.

This generation will change things, I am sure.

  1. why are you doing this to yourself? these stories are truly harrowing!

  2. loolt, stories of other abuse don’t trigger bad memories for me anymore. I have learned the power of exposing depravity in order to affirm dignity (my blog title above).

Talking about such terrible actions gives other women the courage to stand up and fight abuse. Rather than hurting me, when I see others find their voice to speak out I am filled with joy, to know that I may have helped some else find the healing that I did.
