I Want Ramadan Back

That was what struck me today in traffic. It may seem a bizarre thought, but the traffic lately has just been horrendous, and adding school buses into the equation, and regular rush-hour congestion, Ramadan Roads don’t seem so bad.

Is my memory of non-summer school traffic that bad? On Amman’s roads, it seems like 3pm Thursday all day, every day.

    You should be thankful for the free anger management course. No subscription required, just go out to the street.

  2. Jad, I will now choose to be thankful. What an excellent point! ;)

    There should be a younger version of you ma’am!

  4. I want Ramadan back, too, but for additional reasons. :) But I think you are right; the traffic lately has been maddeningly horrific. To get from my home to Rabia should not take 30 + minutes.

    Yes, you are right, the Ramadan traffic wasn’t so bad if you miss the rush home to dinner traffic! It was quite nice. Now it is horrific again. Alhamdulillah. Maybe it will calm down again soon.?

  6. Okay, odd woman out here I SO don’t miss Ramadan traffic! These days my before, and especially after, school traffic has return t Jordan normal interpreive driving experience. No more three lanes where there should only be one. No more people trying to hit because they have an excuse. I’m so happy Ramadan is done with on so many levels this year. Although, for UmmFarouq, I’ll wish it back again, but only for her.

  7. Jad, lol, that was sweet. There are tons of them (well, about ten) in my church, who are a lot like me. I keep looking for a Muslim one for you!

    Umm F, Yes, I can imagine there is a Ramadan Eid let-down just like a Christmas one.

    Umm O, I hope so. I think more people made it a point to sleep in the afternoons with the heat, my neighbors, some never went to bed. Some of them even had construction workers going third shift.

    MB, yes It was really only a passing thought, being able to drink my coffee in the car is a huge relief. AND, the lack of crazy speeding does make up for gridlock. Gridlock won’t kill you, crazy can.

    @Kinzi,
    I see you blushing :p How about converting one of them? another :P ~~~~

  9. Jad, heh-heh, I was thinking maybe YOU would ;) . You know what my prayer-reminder is for you? The Adiga symbol on cars.

    @Kinzi,
    Religion wise, a Muslim is Christian and a Muslim at the same time while Christian is only Christian ;)

  11. Jad, heh-heh, now you know that is the Muslim definition, we have another ;) Defining terms is such an intricate business

    @Kinzi, Now that would make a very interesting post.
