My news source (the falafel sandwich lady) tells me construction has ceased again on the Jordan Gates, the owner is bankrupt and it will not be finished.
Yikes. Anyone who reads Arabic news have more info?

are you kidding??!! They can’t be serious! first they ruin the image of ammans sky and then they decide to stop! atleast first i said it would fine cause it’ll create a lot of space and a lot of people would benefit from it, but now there’s no excuse!!

TEAR IT DOWN! TEAR IT DOWN! TEAR IT DOWN! Anyone want to join me in chanting? Put in the park that used to be there. More green spaces are sorely needed. More skyscrapers… not so much.

Dee, I’m serious! Has there been anything in the news I have missed? No work crews for days.
MB, TEAR IT DOWN!!! Bring back the park! I’m not sure that is a practical solution, but it is what I would prefer.

I have no idea, but i dont think they’re going to admit how bad of an idea Jordan Gates is, and i don’t think they’re going to admit that they failed either..atleast not now..

I first heard this story several months ago while I was still in Jordan. Walking past the place every day, it did seem eerily silent even then.
I’m no urban development expert, but that monstrosity always seemed like a terrible idea; the transportation network in the area can’t possibly handle much more strain, for one thing.

Gosh I hope this is true! As TenaciousB said, TRANSPORTATION! Those people don’t think to the future, things like this should go gradually.
Let the construction stop, and let those two towers stand as two big fingers to the unqualified urban planners of Amman.

Thanks for your opinions, all.
Well, maybe the falafel sandwich lady was a little fried, there were a few workers back yesterday. But why the two week break?
