The Secret of the Cone-Head Hijabi

(seen on Facebook, Um B breaks the news of the first Ammani Urban Legend)

So, story going around, woman brought into the emergency room from a car accident, they were undressing her for surgery and took off her hijab . . . .

They found one of those GIANT yogurt tubs under her hijab…. ah HA! I TOLD my husband they were putting things UNDER their hijabs… he’d just say “IT”S their HAIR!” yaa RIGHT… we saw a woman that looked like the CAT in the HAT the other day and were laughing…. . just weird sorry………

Mystery solved. It is not knee-length licorice tresses wound high on the hijabed female head, it is indeed the yogurt container we all suspected it was.

  1. OMG, yogurt tub. Slightly better than a fez.

  2. Marvin, the fact that a beautiful flat-headed hijabi caught this makes it even more fun!

Beti, looking forward to seeing you tomorrow! :)

  3. NO really !! I thought they would have something soft at least ; p weird really what is wrong with the normal human head shape, sigh

    plastic container!!!
how did she hook it on???ouch…that hurts!!
at least they should try the sponge first…to be more normal…

  5. LOOOOl i heard abt that just was not sure it was TRUE! rumor conformed ! THANK U! u should see them in kuwait! they have babies under there LOL!

did ur source tell u what type of laban container? laban haomodeh? *dino bus one for her hijab :P haha

  6. Tamara, you know women and beauty, there is no limit of pain we will endure for it. Sigh!

Afaf, seriously! Ask some of your friends how they do it, I am actually a little suspicious

Dino, this is sort of tongue-in-cheek, hence ‘urban legend’, I will see my source this morning and see if her source was an eye-witness to a Hammoudeh container recycling project!

Babies under cones in Kuwait, well, what WILL they think of next? ;)

  7. that is what i always told them it was, i once saw a girl who seemed like she took everything that was lying around in her room and stuffed it under that hijab, i told the police to look for that missing kid there but no one took me seriously :( those girls’ necks are likely to suffer the consequences later on

i saw big heads for some girls when i was there and i was wondering how come her hair would look that big, under hijab. my sis wears one, but she never makes it like that!!!
she and i always thought they had long hair that cannot fit underthere!!
she is gonna crack down when i tell her the secret!!

  11. NO WAY!! All this time I’ve been wondering what their secret was and it turns out it was just a yogurt container!!! haha

This is a seriously funny as well as informative post.

  13. Rand, it was your blog we talked about this on, yea? There would be significant storage space there…and I agree, imagine the imbalance with the neck at odds with the stiletto-induced posture.

Lubna, that would actually be quite convenient for gym-going, one wouldn’t need to put it in the gym bag!

Yazan, do note, this is a bit unverified….but very funny!

BWT, thanks again for linking it, and to Um B’s husband for telling us!

Okay jokes aside you could say there was a cat a stuffed toy and all that, but in actuality it is bits of mesh spongy material, they use a lot of them. A friend of mine is a hairdresser and she told me the secret, but if someone is using a yoghurt tub, well, recycling is good! :-D

When we used to do weird hairstyles in the 90′s we used the styrofoam cones and doughnuts (also styrofoam) to pin our hair on… That is also an option! :-D

No its not a yogurt container. Remember lots of ladies have long THICK hair and just put it up in high bun or use those hair bands that are attached to a huge artificial flower to give it the cone head effect. HAHA but ya know i am here in the states and can try a HUGE cottage cheese container next time!
