Baking Cookies with HAREEGA and MommaBean!

When I heard that blogger Hareega was in town, I thought “I would love to meet this fellow blogger in person!”. But, since blogging is ‘dead’ and blogger meet-ups became Twitterups (and Twitter is a nightmare for anyone with ADD tendencies), I wondered just how to make that happen.  The gender thing in Jordan is just so complicated.

I got to thinking, “Well, I have tons of cookie dough in the freezer, need to bake for kid’s lunches, and I haven’t seen MommaBean up close and personal for a while, let’s create a mini blogger cookie bake”. The Hub said fine, MommaBean was free, and Hareega found a couple of hours between falafel and mansaf with relatives to join us.After five years away, that is a lot of relatives and mansaf to catch up on. :)

I also happened to have some cinnamon roll dough to bake, so we adults sat and indulged in warm rolls with almond icing as we yacked.

He is a great guy, as funny in person as on his blog. Quite good with a rolling-pin and cookie cutters, and dodging small children, too.

Shuruftna bi wijoodak, Hareega!

A good way to spend a day. AT the moment I have the street’s 8 year old girls up baking muffins for a temporary shop soon to open for the afternoon in front of our house. The prices look a bit high.

  2. I’m drooling here. Too much sugary goodness in one post. ;)

  3. Hahaha! It was awesome. The company – lovely. The warm cinnamon rolls – delightful. The whole day – blessed…

    Everyone else got cheated, teehee.

  4. the pleasure was mine kinzi. The Cookies and cinnamon rolls and whatever was covering the cinnamons were all great!!

  5. Rand, are you in Jordan? If someone plans a cookie party, I will show with cookies in hand!

BWT…muffins baked by little girls near your home? Sounds like a diet-nightmare! Smelling them baking makes on hungry :)

Brian, seriously, this post is bad for keyboards! Cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies, white chocolate chip, dark chocolate chip, M & M chip. Yup, a dieting-nightmare. Keep me away from the freezer, I tell my husband.

MommaBean, ashanik. It was fun to have you all, the most fun and productive kitchen time in some time!

Hareega, glad you had as much fun as we did! (that was almond flavored icing on the cinnamon rolls) The Hub enjoyed talking to you too. We may get him reading blogs yet. But then, who would cook? :)
