Yea-hea, Amreeka!

Oh my. Who would have thought we’d get this far in futbol? When you have low expectations, everything is a success!!!

In Jordan, we get up in the middle of the night to watch American sports. While in America, my never-see-’em- before-9am boys are up, fed and riding bikes to Aunt Jane’s to watch the World Cup.

I’d say that’s the best of both worlds. :)

  1. haha, my family was rooting for Algeria, I was secretly rooting for USA, so when they scored I could not stay put, and they discovered I was rooting for USA haha! My hate for what both the Algerian and Egyptian fans did was a factor in my decision, but not the main, I just wanted USA to win lol!

  2. I am resolutely ignoring it all, but even I heard about the US’ success. Amazing!

  3. The best thing about this team is their fighting spirit, they can make it to the semi-finals, but it’s very sad how the majority of Americans are completely ignoring football. I was the only person at work watching USA-Algeria even though I was the only non-American.

  4. Haithim, too funny! I must say I am happy so many Arab friends were OK with the US win :)

Marvin, good news DOES travel! I am not much of a fan myself, but learning.

Hareega, i agree! That is one good thing we offer as Americans, and will need to keep it up. We had a pretty large gathering of Americas here in Cornland
