Daar Al Kounouz had an awesome and amazing celebration of Christ’s birth. I am still recovering, and the kounouz are still basking on their remaining days of break. My month off from writing is nearly done, and I have four assignments in various stages of doneness. Which must mean it is time to blog again
Husbands/Daddies usually get the short end of the Christmas-stick. They buy everything they need, are hard to shop for, don’t go ga-ga over chocolate like women, are not bowled over by ‘cute’ and most are careful about cash outlays when the wife has gone shopping mad and guilt-buying. A lot of stereotyping here, but, yella, rooted in truth it is.
A friend linked this post, and I decided to do my own version of the Twelve Days of Christmas for The Hub. He is quiet, doesn’t make much noise, and sometimes gets lost in the chaos of the Kounouz Kamp. This is SO his style: consistent, low-key, lots of thought behind it and not much dinaar dished out.
A bunch of it I won. December was my month to win stuff, magool, I won so much stuff. One was a gift basket, full of things I loved and knew the Hub would love. So, at Day 5, here is The Hub’s Twelve Days of Christmas:
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me:
A book of Jordan’s nature and trees (the Maani Field Guide to Jordan)
I have always wanted this book, I bought copies for my siblings one year but didn’t for us!
On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me:
Two Coffee Cups (and a book of Jordan’s nature and trees)
Have you been to the Pottery by the Kilo store I blogged about? Well, we need to do some lead testing me thinks, on these beautiful mugs decorated with musical notes, mistletoe and the word Rejoice. Because I rejoice over the gift God has given me in my husband.

On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me:
Three Christmas-Man Prayers (Two Coffee Cups and a book of Jordan’s nature and trees)
That my husband would have the joy of Zechariah – who had a some in his latter years (The Hub had 3, + a girl),
The discernment and wisdom of Joseph – who immediately obeyed God’s revelation and lived quietly in the back ground while fathering the Son of God
The patience of Simeon – who waited his whole life to behold his Saviour, and was rewarded to hold Him
On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me:
Four Pics of Our Children (Three Christmas-Man Prayers, Two Coffee Cups and a book of Jordan’s nature and trees)
I made a Christmas ornament of our children’s school pictures and snippets of wrapping paper (a Pinterest kind of thing)
On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me:
Five Thank-You Cards (Four Pics of Our Children, Three Christmas-Man Prayers, Two Coffee Cups and a Book of Jordan’s nature and trees)
Hand-made, beautiful things from From The Earth. Because I am thankful for him, and he is a grateful kind of guy.
The Hub is loving it, and the Kounouz are excited to see what Dad is getting. I am happy he is feeling the love.
