When in doubt, ask a Dukanji I always say. Fa, today I asked our local Dukanj what was up, and he said “Iraq rejected our tomatoes, but Saudi is buying them, so grab them while you can”

I recently bought one tomato for $2.25. Yes a mere one. I didn’t splurge for the organic either. $2.99/lb, over $6.00/kg. OUCH. I could be a whole crate for that much in Jordan and they for sure would be better tasting!
Anon, whoa, that takes homesick-for-Urduni-bandura to a new expensive level. That is as much per pound as hamburger, isn’t it? Ya lateef.
Such a great reason! I love Jordanian Tomatoes!
Does anyone know what type of tomatoes they are, better than we get here, much tastier
